Looks like the rate will reach 2 births per woman in about 10 years.
More stats I find hard to believe.

I think it sounds about right... my mother had three children, my grandmother had 5 children and my great grandmother had around 15.

We actually have a very low population considering the size of our country.

I think the real problem is that we're too spread out and so many people are SUPER poor.

Jeez you okes are harsh hey. Never a thought for the poor and desperate. Who says they are having unprotected sex and making more kids? These people cant afford a home. But hell, that doesn't matter, because we have internet and nice houses and we don't have that problem, so lets say they can't have sex. Why? You guys have sex too don't you?.....Ok wait. Dont answer that.

I love the internet when people get up on their high horses and judge those who are less fortunate and have so little.

I've never understood why people intentionally procreate when they can't financially support a child and offer it a decent shot at a good life.

    +1

I only have a problem with the ones having children they can't afford. At least they have the decency to get some privacy and make sure children don't see them...

You can't tell people that they can't have sex. They haven't exactly got much entertainment...

Those people believe their children will take care of them, so more is better than one.

Anyone who has kids for a chance of monetary gain in several decades should be shot. Kids should cost money, not bring it. If they hit the big time there shouldn't be an expectation to share it, and they shouldn't be made to feel guilty for not being financially successful.

The chance of that happening anyway is slim when their kids are unruly, uneducated and possibly unemployed. I hear so many stories of children running their folks dry from my domestics or of other people's domestics. It seems clear the opposite effect is achieved - justice if they were produced to bring in cash.
