3G Router advice

hey all,
am brand new here and hope you can give me some advice....
i use a MTN 3G modem (huwei e367) to connect to the internet in tandem with an asus rt-n66u router. i very cleverly managed to break one of the USB ports on the asus (not even a month old). previously i used one port for the 3G modem and another for a usb stick in order to do torrents and downloads/streaming without having to switch my main PC on.

So advice please: can i look for a device that will allow me to plug my 3G modem into it and take a wired connection out to plug into the asus' wan port. is there such a device? any suggestions would be welcome.

Check if you have still valid warranty for the router (with physical damage). If warranty is gone, replace USB connector. It is extra risk involved that router will eventually stop working in result of repair.

I agree with Sajunky go the warranty route first especially as it is less than a month old. Repairing a USB port can be difficult at best.
Just a tip: I know that we all do tend to just thrust our USB connectors into the devices and it can be easy to damage the female and the male portion of the connection. If you are going to be removing it frequently, why not get a USB extender cable and leve that plugged into the router and then connect the USB device to the cable. In the event of damage you are only replacing a cable and not a router. I would not recommend an expander port though as you do loose signal speed without booster power.

If you are going to be removing it frequently, why not get a USB extender cable and leve that plugged into the router and then connect the USB device to the cable.

Unless cable is very short, you get into power problems, I don't recommend.

thanks for the replies have phoned asus and they will determine upon seeing the device wether repairs are feasible - i fear thsy i have shorted some pins so possibley not - it is doubtful warranty will cover this though. but my wuestion remains: is there a device that will convert from 3G to wired?
