I really think that MS needs to cancel this launch and go back to the drawing board with Windows 8.
This product launch is going to be a failure like Windows Vista was.
They can avoid it if they fix it before launch.

    What's broken?

Seems like MS have gone into a loop of one good release, one crap release, one good release... and so on.

Why whats wrong? I've been using Consumer Preview and Release Preview on 5 pc's for the last couple of months without any issues?

Apparently I'm old and unwilling to learn new things for not liking Metro on the desktop. Dumbing down things is a good thing right?

Tried the developer release on my laptop...Metro UI just doesn't make sense in that context. I found it became more going back to the desktop and then getting irritated whenever I wanted to launch and App where it takes you back to the Metro screen.

    Why?

Ran customer preview as primary home OS an now customer preview - no problems. A couple beta apps aren't working yet.

I have faster than Win7 boot times and my system uses less resources at idle.

    What's the big problem?

It's not stability or performance issues. It's metro sucking the life out of a desktop (not tablet/phone) environment.

Developer preview was K@K!!! I couldn't even use it, CP and RP ran like a thief that stole a TV. Perfectly, efficient, fast... no problems at all. I also hated Metro, once you spend a couple of minutes to customise it, you can't imagine not having it

As long as you don't tap your start key, and you are shoved back into metro. You can disable it with some hacks.
