You have given me an idea for a project. Plasticland sells suitable looking containers, will just need one with a clear lid. I have a few heating pads and there must be a computer fan or too lying around somewhere. One sharp knife and a few cable-ties later and I should have the business.
No single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood

Yup, currently not on as they are nothing more than seeds at the moment!

I wish you didnt need a computer power supply to use computer fans.

I should look into building another grow box actually. Well, my plant stand is nice but the lights are too high above for small plants like I have now.

You really dont need computer PSU, i used an old nokia charger, all it means is that the fan doesn't run at full speed, it still works! Its one of the larger fans too, ran it for a good couple of months straight and its still working!

I now have 5 of the 7 beds I plan to use for veggies ready.
The other two have to wait for a different project (one is completely empty as in no soil at all, the other is covered in a heap of sand and stones).

I am just watering them constantly to get the weeds to grow and the soil moist all the way through.
Once I have garden beds full of weedlings I will poison the lot and that will save me a ton of weeding in future.

I also attacked all the beds with my HP water sprayer yesterday to level them out and get rid of any clumps of soil.

Thanks to my BIL to be I have a huge collection of seeds

Filled an 8x16 seed tray last night (128 holes).
Used Coco husk as the substrate.

Some of the seeds I have planted include cabbage, tomato, carrots, onion (spring and normal), mielies, salad mixes and habanero's to name but a few.

Anyone else planning on doing some planting/gardening this year?
How are your tomatoes coming along?

I ask because I planted some myself but.. they haven't faired as well as expected Granted I planted them a little deep, and watering was suspect in the beginning, but most of all they aren't meant to planted during the winter..

And overall how's your veg garden doing?

    As per my last post

I do have some cherry tomatoes growing as well as some red onion but the cherry tomatoes were accidental (about 2 years old now as well) and the red onion will be moved into one of my garden beds shortly.

None of my seeds have sprouted as yet, I expect that will start happening any day now (only been 7 days tonight since filling the trays).
