Is the 10 Commandments for Christians?

Apple have also taken Motorola and HTC to court, so I'm not convinced they only blindly targeting Samsung.

I'm not an iSheep, whatever the hell that ridiculous and insulting term even means. I have a SGS1, KF and iPad2 (and a busted up iTouch 1g ). It's pretty safe to say I run the gamut.

The Meizu there has a totally distinctive aesthetic and UI. It doesn't even have a swipe to unlock bar. The materials are multicoloured, it has a navball instead of a home button, it has multiple unlock destinations with unique icons that bear no resemblance to anything in iOS.

Now the LG Optimus Black, there's an iPhone wannabee if ever there was.

True. My bad in not being more clear- they are persistently taking Samsung to court. The ratio of cases against Samsung vs other brands is very disproportionate.

I remember travelling with my two younger brothers in the backseat. They'd keep pinching me or bothering me the entire trip. So I'd be going 'quit it, quit it' the whole time. Eventually when I got totally gatvol of it, I'd give them a proper thumping to make good and sure they'd leave me well enough alone.

Cause Samsung scares the **** out of them. They litigate because they cannot compete.

I understand protecting intellectual property but how in the world do you suggest that you have a monopoly over a colour and shape? For that matter, how do you confuse the two phones as well, Samsung has its name on the front and back of the phone while Apple has its logo on the back.

No problem The patent war is a very generalised debate at this point - so it's more the design of the iPhone range, as opposed to particular components.

I get what you are saying, but I don't think it is accurate in this instance.

Exactly my point. Apple don't want competition. That is why they don't even license their technology.

I think it's pretty accurate personally. They got irritated and eventually slapped a great big old lawsuit on their desk. No great mystery here.

Exactly my point. Apple don't want competition. That is why they don't even license their technology.
Or they could also just want lawsuit dollars. Why else do megacorporates litigate? To protect and enrich themselves. Why do megacorporates do anything in fact?

I am sorry but some of those suggestions are ludicrous:

Overall shape that isn't rectangular, or doesn't have rounded corners - So they want everyone else to make a round screen or sharp edged tablet? They would go down well with the personal injury lawyers. What about:

Front surface that isn't entirely flat
    Profiles that aren't thin
    Cluttered appearance

So they should artificially put bumps on the screen so as not to infringe or make a tablet that is as fat as possible and cluttering is a great design decision. I am sorry but all of your posts reek of "Apple Fanboi". Apple can do no wrong and everyone who builds something else is copying. Perhaps you should look that design is all about copying. Innovation is about taking whats out there and improving it. Apple do it, as do MS and even Samsung. What is broken is the whole patent system. It's gotten completely out of hand where people can't put a button on a screen without infringing a patent somewhere. Apple is abusing that system to try and gain a monopoly in the table and smart phone markets.

For the record, I own a couple of PC's, an iPad, a Samsung android phone, a MBP and an iPhone.

You just made the mistake again that "swipe to unlock" was invented but Apple which is not the case.

Swipe to unlock by moving a UI element over a predefined linear path? Yes they did
