Like that gorilla steering lock thingy. They claim unbreakable steel and unbeatable lock ect ect ect. You know how they get around that. It taks 30 seconds and they use a saw. Simply cut the steering wheel next to where that thing is mounted on then they throw it out the window and drive away.

I know, i know, lol. budget is small, looking at 100K so second hand obviously. Was thinking SUV. So we looking for a family car, but something light on fuel and easy to maintain (cant pay a fortune if i have a bumper bashing) Any advise appreciated

Look at a 2nd hand Honda CRV. It's a SUV, with enough refinement to fit a woman drivers needs. Easy to maintain and not to shabby when it comes to fuel usage.

The beauty of the Subaru is that you can get some incredible bargains as well, as people in SA don't know what damned good cars they are, and second hand value is way below what it should be.
