Afrihost 1Mbps Uncapped Slow

Hey All,

Anyone else experiencing slow download speeds on the 1Mbps uncapped account?
For some reason my downloads today have been really slow (download speed of a 512K line)..

Just thought I'd post this while I wait for a reply from Afriman

Well, my friend admitted that his pr0n streaming was slow on his Afrihost account but Steam downloads ran at full speed.
He wasn't sure if it was worth the embarrassment to call and complain.

LOL- reminds me of the time I worked at a company handling Payment Gateways - some lady called to ask if her statement will show what adult toys she bought! :O

My Cybersmart account is dead slow, changed to Afrihost and now i'm downloading at full speed.

I've downloaded about 1.3GB on my Afrihost 1mb uncapped at full line speed and now all of the sudden, it is crawling along at 39kb/s.

Is it some kind of throttling?

This is my first day using this account and I was testing its capability.

Seems I am going to have to switch ISPs after day 1, *sigh*

Seems to be affecting people in Cape Town and surrounding areas mostly, myself included. Speeds have been up and down like crazy since yesterday.

I see that some users are getting better speeds, even though the upgrades haven't been completed as far as I know. We'd like to still continue testing just in case there are other issues at work.

If anyone is interested in running some tests for us and sending us the results, we'd be really grateful.
