    Default Diablo 3 and internet

Hey Peeps I just want to find out I upgraded my PC just to be able to play this game...is it true that you need to be connected to the internet to play this game? Online activation I understand, but to be connected 24/7?? I only have 3G so scared it might take a big bite in My bill! Lol. Can it be played offline?

    Yip have to be online,

Think of it as a online single player game.

OMG that's so sad! I don't see the need to be online for single player what was Blizzard thinking! Any idea how much data it uses? Gotta hate SA with its crappy data rates

Honestly, you're not missing much. The game is exceptionally bad. Check metacritic for the users reviews. Not pretty.

You're better off waiting for another ARPG like Path of Exile, Torchlight 2 or Grim Dawn.

Seriously, give D3 a skip. You'll enjoy it in the beginning but the fun will fade really fast. Also, the servers are pretty much deserted at this point in time.

When I was still playing D3 (more than a month ago) I was getting lag while on unshaped ADSL. Most of the times it was fine, but there were times when it was simply unplayable. You need to grow accustomed to the fact that you won't necessarily be able to play when you want to play because of factors outside of your control. I also had to accept the fact that I will die no matter what when I go through the first portal on a new game.

I agree with CarsinemiA. Give D3 a skip. Your money is better spent elsewhere. I can't wait for TL2 to come out.

Have a look at http://beta.xfire.com/games/d3 Does that look healthy to you?
It's in the rough waters that you quickly notice the presence or absence of the ship's captain. Who is at SA's helm?

Otherwise you can use a referral which gives you a taste of the game. Rather than be jaded by other's opinions, give it a try yourself?

That won't give the full picture. Sometimes the game works well, sometimes not.
It's better to ask people who have been playing for many weeks.

Bud, I'm not sure of your logic there.... how is listening to other people better than actually playing the game yourself and seeing how it performs with your own eyes? The referral doesn't seem like a once off playthrough either, meaning more testing.

Same here, I'm using vodacom 3g to play sometimes, and with the 3g I've been getting some very bad latency the past couple days, but before that it was always good, this is odd, anyone else experiencing problems with D3 and 3G?

Main problem with D3 is that its an Auction RPG instead of an Action RPG...

No one forces you to use the AH, trading has always been part of the game, the AH just makes it easier, for an added challenge I started an untwinked character, which only rely on drops and crafting, you should try it, will take care of your AH concerns

Wikkels88 you are wrong. If you played games at the level I do, ie seriously with getting the most out of it, researching, theorycrafting, you would not say that, so I have to deduct that you are a casual player.

Now if you are content with just being a casual player, not caring about inferno or the long term viability of a game then sure its fine then.
I completed inferno on my 2nd level 60 way back before the game was nerfed (ie before 1.0.3). And yes I know trading was part of the game, core actually in D2 and my toons in the 90's was proof of that...

Leveling new toons in D3 does not count. It can be done without the AH, thou you will only see gear drop that's 5-10 levels below your level. Luckily those difficulties are easy enough so you don't need better gear

Its a fact that D3 is not rewarding enough, specially for serious players
Its a fact that you will never get that top tier items and weapons from drops. Only way is to use the AH
Its a plain fact that the whole game was built around the AH. Even the drops depends on what is on the AH atm.
Farm gold or farm items to sell and buy new items. ie gold, real money and an AH game...
Another fact and big problem is that D3 has no endgame

So my statement hold true and that is very sad coming from arguably the biggest Diablo fan around...
(and yes I'm still hoping they fix it as some point. D2 took like a year before it really become an awesome online, long term game)

    Fixed all that for you

But oh yes of course, because you were a hardcore D2 fan, everything you say is 100% correct and irrefutable
