Default Early screenshots of Firefox OS revealed

You may already be aware of Mozilla's upcoming mobile operating system based on HTML5. We now have some new screenshots of the UI, courtesy of Mozilla evangelist Robert Nyman.

The UI looks markedly different from some of the previous screenshots we have seen and draws heavy inspiration from some of the other mobile operating system. You can see the iOS influence in the homescreen UI and some Android influence in the settings app and notification drawer.

Still, we wouldn't dwell too much on these because, as Nyman has pointed out, the OS is still being developed and a lot can change by the time it reaches its final stage.

I think it looks rather nice. Question for me is will the apps work without a active data connection because it is HTML5 based...or does the phone need to downloade the app or page everytime? Also, will Firefox have a push server in place like Google's C2DM?
Now why you loer en kyk gelyk?
Is ek miskien van goud gemake?

looks very similar to another OS.... I think it was called "Android" :P

I am excited for this though. Competition drives innovation.

As long as a spanner called apple is kept out of the orange clockwork...
Christ-mass is NOT for Christians. Jeremiah 10.
Is the 10 Commandments for Christians?

Saturday is the Seventh day, Sunday is the first day.

Oh no, they used numbers and letters of the alphabet combined with icons on a touch screen mobile device.

Prepared to be sued by Apple!

Sorry, this does actually look quite close to Android.

the app files can be served from the filesystem... thus no network required. Also since its HTML5 there can be heavy usage of offline storage (aka - window.localStorage)

There is talk about a push notification API for the (eventual) HTML5 standard.

I am disappointed that they changed the look of the UI. Gaia was a bit more unique than iOS and Android.
