Thread: Opt-out.co

    Default Opt-out.co

I don't know if this is the right place to put this thread, so if a mod could please move it if it isn't?

I have been receiving lots of spam ever since I have signed up for my credit card. Now this is fairly normal but I have gotten about two a day. Then I noticed something interesting. At the bottom of the text, there was a link to a site where I could opt-out of further advertising campaigns.

    The website is: http://www.opt-out.co

it is followed by a /#### (Where # is a string of numbers). I decided why not let's go for it - I entered my cellphone number and it said that my number has been removed from the database. I'll check back tomorrow and see if I receive any more spam from these buggers.

Anyone else had the same message as what I did?

I have had no spam as of yesterday. I can always block them on my Android (the spam messages that is), but I thought I might as well try the opt-out service. If I get more spam, so be it - at least it's a lesson learned.
