I will agree to it, but only if they erect a Statue of the Spear right in the middle of the town!

More like Zuma's hedging on a comfortable retirement environment seeing as he's on his way out.

Geez finally, this government is doing something worth while with our tax money. A significant number of South Africans reside in rural areas. These rural areas have zero infrastructure, zero development and the people from there are forced to leave their homes to look for work that does not exist in the cities. The net result of this animal like migration is none other than shacks and shanty towns on the outskirts of every city.

It is near impossible to build houses and provide decent services for every person that arrives in the metropolitan areas without any skills with no prospect of a decent job other than hanging around the perimeters of secure estates looking for piece jobs. Where there was once thriving villages today there is desolation. Why? People who were once self sustaining are now queuing up to get government hand-outs. The idea that with the advent of freedom there was going to be a free houses and free everything is what has led to people not willing to do anything for themselves anymore.

Government needs to develop rural infrastructure such as tarred roads, schools, and provide electricity, water, sanitation etc and you will see small self sustaining rural towns emerging around villages instead of all the villagers flocking to Jo'burg, CT and DBN.

The construction would transform what is a dusty backwater with basic government buildings scattered among isolated rural homesteads into tree-lined avenues and covered walkways connecting modern, architect-designed buildings, the newspaper said.
How will the locals afford these architect-designed buildings ?

Have you LOOKED where Nkandla is? Its in the arse end of nowhere.... I am all for development of the rural areas, but expecting private enterprise to shell out R1bn for a development that has no decent links to main transportation routes is beyond fekking daft.
