    Default Calling Out Cybersmart Representative

Recently, Cybersmart was in the news on this site for offering great deals on their ADSL accounts. According to this link http://www.cybersmart.co.za/adsluncappedsubscribe.cgi, they are offering a 1MB uncapped service for R375. This value actually EXCLUDES vat, even the terms and condtitions found here http://www.cybersmart.co.za/terms.pdf, states that all prices INCLUDES VAT. My friend is on this service, his bill is R427. On his statement they add vat on top of the R375.

How is this legal in ANY way?

Actually no, it is R375. I am on the same service. Switched on Monday and was billed R375 (as per my bank statement).

So you friend needs to just query his bill.

Problem is, the accounts department is giving him a bunch of stories, and not for the first time. If they fix it, I will apologise and they can close this thread. I guess it is just coincidence that the amount is exactly R375 before VAT and then they added it... anyhow, let see if they will fix his account then

I also got two different stories from two people.

Wanted to cancel my data package and keep my line with them. One said, if I cancel my data, I don't need to give a months notice and the other said I did. Then when I forwarded the emails to them and asked them to clear it up, they didn't reply.

P*ssed off at my friend for ever recommending an adsl and line package with them. Would rather pay extra to keep my line with Telkom. Plus their website is like ten years behind everyone and their clientzone sucks.

Had to phone 3 times in the last week of August to ensure that they changed my package to a line only package. If i hadn't, would have been charged for a product i cancelled. Really bad service.

It's been more than 2 years since I've left them, and they still keep on charging me for an additional email address R5 each month I discovered a couple of days ago. Will be sending Laurie and email first thing tomorrow.
And thats the bottom line, cause StoneCold said so...

Another interesting thing is the fact that they're effectively charging R209 for a R165 line so that they can advertise the fact that the uncapped is R86... I know the overall package is still one of the cheapest, but it seems sneaky.

It's weird anyway, since with Afrihost I pay 397 for 4 MB uncapped. So no need to stay with a disreputable service like Cybersmart.

I also want to move completely but scared my line gets cancelled in the process. I have heard to many horror stories about moving a line back to telkom.

I nearly subscribed to Cybersmart, but before I even placed the order, they were demanding unreasonable terms and conditions, including an unlimited access to my bank account, so I abandoned them.
