I enjoyed this thread.
Reminded me of a song by Luther Vandross. "Love the one you're with"

I tried... I failed. My iPad 3 has gone into the classifieds
Thanks to you Apple peeps for at least being patient with me and showing me the ropes. I have however come to the conclusion that iOS - while a great OS for some - is just not for me.
I will try it again when iOS has advanced a bit more (don't flame - my opinion).![]()

The iPad 2 I had a few months ago dude. I never gave it much of a chance though which is why I got the 3.
Wifee has an HTC Flyer and an S2. I offered her the iPad but she reckons she is happy with what she has. Fair enough.
She has asked me to covert her garage to a studio for her, so figured I would try recover as much as I could for the iPad 3 and put it towards the conversion.
Fair enough. The take away I got from this post was that she had an iPad. As a professional photographer it hard to think about not having an iPad these days.
Btw. You never did tell me the name of that app!![]()

Oh yeah. That app
When I got the iPad 3 I gave it to her and told her to go get that app. She could not remember the name of it and showed no interest to look it up. I think I read too much into the excitement she showed when watching that episode of Revision 3
I will go dig around quick and see if I can find the name of it for you.
LOL!
Outcome as expected. Thanks for doing this and sharing it with us Mike. When I use my wife's iPad 2 the OS truly feels ancient once one got used to ICS/JB. But for many (majority) that is fine and does everything for them. To each his own.
As I said the other day the one thing that is becoming clear to me now on Android tablets is that CPU/graphix power and RAM do matter now. All the smoothness improvements and better effects (eye candy) take a toll. Android is maturing now (the ugly functionality focus is making way for a bit more class and finness).

I think this is the part where "each to his own" comes into play.
For me, the single only app I could not get in my SGS 10.1 was Field Runners 2. All the other apps I used on the iPad also existed on the SGS and looked/worked very similar with the exception of Tapatalk where it functions better on the SGS.
The actual experience when using iOS left me frustrated. Love the hardware though. That part is excellent.
EDIT: The skytrax app was iOS only too. So 2 apps unavailable to me on my SGS.
It really comes down to your needs and how you use the device. Neither camp (iOS or Android) really has a right (or need) to slam the other camp. They are both excellent OS's that fit specific needs.
