Default Prediction - Usain Bolt to run the first ever sub 9.5s 100m...

Based on his semi-final qualifying time, he looks set to break his world record.
Yohan Blake to take second in a blistering time as well.
    Tyson Gay to take third.

All of them to run sub 9.9s races...

Bolt just jogged through in 9.87

    Blake looked good in 9.85

Its going to be a cracking final.

    I fancy a 9.7 final.

Blake and Gay both had to put some effort in to get there. What you'll notice is that once Bolt gets into the lead, he jogs, and he is getting into the lead far quicker than before...

If not sub 9,5s then very close to it. WR is under threat.

Wind could be a factor. It was at their backs for the semi-finals; hopefully it does not turn....

Jamaican boys should break the WR in the 4 x 100m final.

    They have an awesome 4some

What time is the final? I agree about Blake and Bolt... Both made it look ridiculously easy. I'm thinking low 9.7 or high 9.6. It's going to be great.

Track does seem to be fast.

Even the women were running sub 11 with ease.

With Bolt slowing down what looked like 30m before the end - we could have a time very close to 9.5.

I don't see sub 9.5 - but who knows? It's gonna be an awesome final!
    Bolt 1st, Blake 2nd, Gatlin 3rd IMO.

Even though it did seem like Blake put some effort into it - the head on replay showed his face - and he looked very comfortable, no distress.
He may just be psyching Bolt out...?

What I've noticed about the strong guys is they power through the wind factor. Bolt jogged the final 50m and nailed 9.87. Incredible how just a few seasons ago some of these times would have been close to WR times already. We're now touting 9.5 as a realistic possibility.

I must admit, I really get into the Olympics with the athletics more than synchronised dancing in water and stick throwing...

Looking forward to the mens 400m semi's and women's 400m coming up in the next 20 minutes or so.

Ditto - I've not watched much of what has gone before. IMO this is the "real" Olympics!
