    No, in a way its worse.

    Crazy people will do crazy things, so the Boeremag thing should not be surprising.

    But this is state sanctioned terrorism intended to destabilize a political opponent to the detriment of residents of the WC. If you ask me, thats pretty terrifying.

    The problem is those who are still behind the YL will feed into whatever the YL tells them.

    Where have you read that it's state sanctioned? Or are you assuming the lack of attention by government as a form of allowance?

    This ^

    especially after the ANC confirmed to the world that the ANCYL was a sub-structure of the ANC and not an independent body (following the Malema debacle)...

    State = ANC
    ANCYL = ANC

    The ANC must control their kids.

    The ANC's provincial executive council (PEC) condemned the recent violence in service delivery protests, including the stoning of a Golden Arrow bus in Khayelitsha on Friday.

    It called on community leaders to discourage violence and damage associated with the protests, as it gave room to "opportunistic elements" which tried to "demonise" legitimate demands.

    The party and its youth league denied any involvement in the attack on the bus.
    Disagree on State = ANC. ANC only accounts for just over half of the 'State' and it's numbers are dropping.

    I thought that the DA had video evidence of ANC members directing the protests? Why don't they go public with it?

    If they have video evidence then it should be handed over to SAPS/NPA for further action. It should not be made public unless the NPA decides not to do anything about it.

    If they don't speak out against it then it's the same as supporting it.

    After all, all those who didn't speak out against apartheid supported it no ?

    Well they have spoken out ... see my previous post. The trick for the DA now is to prove the ANC's statement wrong.

    Am I the only one who seems to think that the ANCYL/WL/Cosato forgot about the recent court ruling making organisers of marches responsible for any damage to property caused by their marchers?

    This should play out pretty well...

    Remember those rumours about Malema saying stuff that the ANC supported but needed someone else to be true?

    How much of what Malema has said regarding nationalization has turned out to be true?

    I do not for one second think the YL would be doing this without a push from the ANC.

    EDIT:

    Also, dont you think its odd that the State hasnt reacted? This is a threat to make a province of South Africa ungovernable. Imagine if the DA YL threatened to make Limpopo ungovernable - think the government would react?

    Their non reaction is evidence of their complicity.

    Yeah, hence the distance I think. I hope IF there were ANCYL members behind it that they are shown the same door as Malema was.

    Huh?

    That link hardly says anything. The government, as usual, is noncommital.

    First, its a fact that the YL has in the past caused massive damage to property. I seem to remember one of the campuses of UKZN was badly damaged by them. So this would not be the first time.

    Second, as I understand, this proposed strike has not happened.

    Third, the threats made by the YL are real and recorded. They really did say that.

    And now with all that, the ANC is saying that the DA is blaming current violence on the YL with no proof? So they conveniently ignore the issue of the very real threat that the YL made.

    And to top it off, you actually expect the ANC to behave in an honest and above board fashion? Really? Ask Schabir Shaik about honest and above board. Or Jacob Zuma. Or Malema. Or anyone who went on an expenses paid overseas trip recently.
