    Default bis on mtn intermittent?

    Yesterday I discovered my EDGE indicator on the BB had changed to edge, then GSM. Today the same thing happened. First got a 'sim not registered message', then a GSM indicator and only hours later, after another reboot, got the EDGE back.

    Obviously BIS services did not work for these hours.

    Phoned the SP who said MTN had reported a few problems in the last few days. Anyone know about this?

    Today I saw it on a colleague's BB - happened at the same time as mine - and he has a different SP.

    Hey @entrepr, I have also been having terrible connection problems on MTN of late! I have a 9900 and mostly on the '3G' setting. The amount of times that the 3G symbol went to '3g' was shocking I could hardly even download a pdf from my email, let alone load any web page. Don't even mention trying to download a 37kb app from appworld. There signal has also deteriated substantially. I live in Primrose area, and 5 months ago, I had FULL 6 bars signal wherever I was in the house, not I struggle to even get 2 bars without having to do hand stands! Very unhappy how it has been degraded month after month!!!

    Off this side also, JHB. Also, no normal 3G connection either. When you call their call centre and choose the option to speak to an operator, you get a voicemail box greeting!

    Terrible MTN, terrible!

    Hey guys I'm having the same tipe of problem..this is driving me nuts.I have to load airtime to have internet and use watsapp,villains and mxit.
    Phoning mtn cusomer care is just as bad.As one has to listn to crap while waiting a long time for help that doesn't realy help.anyone else have the billing problem?
