Default Red Bull Mobile - Good service/value for money?

    Hi everyone

Just a quick question as to how those of you that are using Red Bull Mobile/Cell C are faring in terms of service. I have recently become interested in switching from blackberry on Vodacom to RBM 200 (LG optimus Black) as it seems like a great package but it seems all the feedback on the forum I've been seeing is wholly negative.

Is this the case with Cell C/RBM? Great prices/deals but poor service?

    Thanks

    Mike

+1 Got the 200 package and is great value for money, just had to call them about 2 or three times since I got it last year .And must say they pick up almost istantly.

I got RBM200 in Cape Town and I am very happy. I have phoned them a couple of times with data connectivity issues, but it may be related to my ROM.

Value for money can't be beat, but unfortunately you will get an old model phone

I believe that that the RMB200 is great value for money. I switched from BB. Best move every. The only issue is that the data connection out of towns is a bit flaky, but I am largely a city dweller.

If you get the LG don't update the phone to LG's Gingerbread release, LG did a really bad job. Apparently ICS is coming in a few months, I'm hoping they do a bit better with that release.

Thanks guys for the feedback so far, I'm sold on RBM 200 at the moment. Want to get the LG optimus black (even though it's older it's still a good phone and gingerbread is still the most supported android os) but I'm definitely seeing a trend on the forum that cell c has poor customer service in general but the prices are just so good.

This whole thread started because I went into a cell c store and the salesperson told me RBM is "crap" and they are phasing it out.

Maybe we as consumers should ask are good prices worth bad service?

RBM is actually dead. They told me now they won't offer any of the phones any longer.

RBM was not crap, it was the best value bundle they had going, and they failed to capitalize on it by upgrading their deals. Atm you can get the RBM HD on a special last-of-stock price @ R100 for 115 airtime/100sms.

Personally if you ask me the reason they are cancelling it is because it makes the rest of their offerings look as meager as they actually are.

Thanks Cell_C for clarifying things for us. The store I visited was Cavendish Square Cape Town. Unfortunately didn't get salesperson's name.

Think I'll hold off until September then
