What a thoroughly bogstandard spec bump. What's the point of this tablet when you can get the 7 plus and the P6800?

I paid about R5750 for my imported Samsung 7.7" P6800, but it is way better than the 7".

And I can still hold it with one hand and use it as a phone. That's not the intention though, but may be useful for emergencies - I stuck a Cell C 99c for real SIM with a 3GB for a year bundle in there.

I'm ashamed of South Africa. It's an absolute disgrace that you can pass matric with a mark of 30 percent." - Jonathan Jansen

    Yes, it's delicious

Since my first netbook I have hated the 1024x600 resolution ! (sold that netbook)

Yes, but I mostly use wifi, the 3G is just there for when I am in a queue somewhere (I hate queues !!!).

this is $250 overseas- that's about R2000 including retailers profits. R4500- R7000? we are being ripped a new one.

Yes, the 7" should be much cheaper than the 7.7" - about half or less !

    Should sell for R3500.

No no... you're mistaken... getting ripped off in SA is nothing new... the other electronics retailers are just hating Walmarts entry into the market... anyone notice how flat screen TV prices have plummet since their arrival...

Can anyone tell Walmart SA about the Nexus 7 ?

MTN has the superior 7+ for R169x24 on anytime 100 - best bang for buck but get your data elsewhere. The 2010 galaxy tab 7 stuck on gingerbread is on a ridiculous package though. The 7+ was also available for R3000 on 24hoursonly.co.za - Samsung is now pushing this tab 2 as it is cheaper.
