Thread: Who offers the best 3G Data Coverage?

Default Who offers the best 3G Data Coverage?

    Hi Guys,

I have an iPad 3 and a Laptop and on both I use about 3GB each per month. I am currently using Vodacom Prepaid Data, but I find its a lot more expensive than just getting a contract with a fixed number of GB per month.

I used MTN on my iPad when I got it and thanks but no thanks, poorest 3G coverage and instability ever. Vodacom seems to have good coverage wherever I go and seems stable enough. However, Cell C has a couple of good packages, but I don't know how strong their 3G infrastructure is compared to Vodacom, and what the coverage is like. I must however say that on my BlackBerry I noticed I have 3G coverage with Cell C most of the time. Pity though that Cell C Voice Services are completely useless, which lends me to give second thought to getting into a contract with them for Data.

I am more concerned about the quality of the 3G connection and signal strength, than the actual price at the end of the day. You get what you pay for... right?

    Any comments?

He said coverage not price. 8ta is the worst in coverage. Vodacom is the best I have experienced. MTN is totally crap in some areas in fact I have MTN 3G coverage but get worse than dial up speeds.

buy a prepaid sim for each and test them, the coverage varies dependent on area. Always been on Vodacom 3 g but I have just moved to a new place and the best signal I get is cell c.

As stated by web, if you're going to be in specific known places most of the time, test with a prepaid sim. If your location is mostly varying, Vodacom is the winner.

    Vodacom

Get the 3GB per month bundle for R199pm, preferably get it as a Top Up (No Night Owl, but no OOB).

The best coverage in SA is Vodacom and MTN unfortunately.

But, the best value in SA for broadband is 8ta.

Where I live ALL 4 Networks (Vodacom, MTN, Cell C, 8ta) have got HORRIBLE network quality. (Yes, I have tested all of them).

Maybe you had better get 1 x Vodacom and 1 x 8ta SIM
