Thread: How to open NAT for XBOX gaming

Question How to open NAT for XBOX gaming

    Good morning Everyone.

Hope this is the right section, but just for safety I will post it in gaming aswell.

I used to connect my Xbox via 3g modem. I have now received a huewai b683 router and proceeded to set it up to connect to xbox live. I have forwarded the relevant ports and tested the connection. Xbox connects to live, but states my NAT is set to strict.

Then I added the xbox's ip to dmz, tested again, and now the message states that NAT is on moderate.

How can I set the NAT to be open? I have also phoned vodacom data on 155 but they dont know what i am talking about.

    Any suggestions?

Okay, after some more research it seems that the router is causing the NAT problem. Does anyone know where in the interface one can turn off or disable the NAT setting?

Search for your router manual on the internet, then search the manual for dmz. Unfortunately my memory is a bit fuzzy when it comes to routers, the last time I worked with one is when I still had ADSL a few years back...
