Competitive data offerings and the continued success of hybrid packages were the main contributors to post-paid growth.

My MTN speeds have declined from 1500kbps to less than 300kbps in my neck of the woods over the past two years. Increasing your coverage while decreasing your quality seems to be the MTN motto.

If anything they seem to be boosting speeds down. Takes an hour to download a 17Mb file on their piss poor network.

Really? All I've experienced before switching to Cell C was a data network degrading daily at a fast pace.

I have been on a MTN contract for the past two years and I was very disappointed in the beginning about the poor quality of their network. But lately I have certainly noted an increase in the network quality, particularly with 3g. If they keep up with this trend, I will renew my contract with them because I was considering going to Vodacom.

I wish I could say the same as cozinsky. However wherever I go in Jo'burg and I try to use my MTN dongle I land up switching over to my Vodacom dongle within a few minutes because either I cannot get HSDPA or when I do the data throughput fluctuates wildly or is pathetic. So I am using Vodacom much more than MTN now.
