Have I not set the settings properly or are we meant to see the score and SS7 caption where they would be on a normal view, ie not on the edge of the screen.

seems like its that way or else it would mess up the setup for the "regular" sized viewers... had a ROFL of a time explaining to my wife what widescreen was...![]()
explain to me plz
10% extra is nothing to get excited about i must say
well, any normal broadcast on a widescreen looks kinda "streched", so a proper 16:9 signal will kinda add almost half of your normal viewing screen to the edges in widescreen.
its easy to see the difference when you switch to SS3 and then SS7 during a small pause in the game, you miss out on items on the edges which are visible on the widescreen broadcast.
its just nice to see things normal and not streched.![]()
It almost looks like a 1/4 to 1/2 a screen is added. But are the SS7 logo and score caption meant to be on the edges of the screen?

lol!
i think if they put the logo at the edge of the SS7 broadcast it might make it disappear on the regular SS3 channel.
So you think the logo position on all SS7 channels is driven by one program so to say. Given that on SS7 it shows S7 and not S3, and the score caption has widescreen below?

could run from the same system that only has 4:3 in mind?
Thanks Bwana v.12! Sheeez! who would have thought to look under "installation"? I mean really. moronchoice idiots.Originally Posted by bwana v.12
Anyhoo, it's my hole's cover that it does not default to that setting, as it seems that all other programmes are unaffected by the 16:9 setting.
edit: except the Peroni ad which seems to be made for widescreen too.
Now I've seen it, I'll wait for something worth watching...

AFAIK the reason the logos are not at the side is that in future the decoder will cut out the middle for 4:3 TVs. So there won't be seperate channels, the decoder will take the 16:9 picture and cut it to display without black bars on a 4:3 TV.

I like it. It reminds what areas I wouldn't be able to see on 4:3
