    Hi MyDraadloos
At times I am sure we have all felt like that and maybe what you are trying to do is not consumer grade. However looking at what durbandave has given you as well as looking at the www.mikrotik.com website you should be able to do it.

Let us know how you get on

    regards Tim

Hi Tim, I seem to have it working. Every time I try something advanced and it stops working I just reset it and start again.

It is however obvious that I will need help to configure the rest of the network.

I can build the network, I just can't configure it. lol

If you're looking for help, then the mikrotik forum is the place to go. Their wiki is also a great source of info. If you're creating a hotspot, then checkout the User Manager section on the wiki too.

Take a look at this thread:
    http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthre...-USB-3G-Modems

Lots of useful info there regarding that particular model of MikroTik router.
I have put a lot of work into various scripts and configs for this.

I have just actually set up a RB751U-HnD as a basic hotspot using a 3G modem plugged into the USB port for the wan connection.

Unfortunately the hotspot wizard feature of this particular model does not work straight from factory defaults and results in a "broken" hotspot. You need to delete the default Bridge (bridge-local) first to get it to work.

First reset the router to default then delete (Remove) the existing Bridge config and give the "Hotspot Setup" a try again.

Oh..and do upgrade to RouterOS v5.19
I have a few of these routers running this latest version, with no problems.

Don't give up on the MikroTik too soon.
I'm sure most people saw it as "hell in a plastic box" when they first tried making sense of it

Myself and the folks around here will try and help you as best we can.
    Vasbyt!

The mikrotik routeros seems a little daunting when you are unfamiliar with it, but once you start working with it starts making logical sense. Also as GarethY mentioned the mikrotik forums are great and really helpful.

Once you start understanding mikrotik you begin to see how powerful these inexpensive routers really are.
