Ford Ranger

Better looking than any subaru or toyota...

Latest Ford Rangers are actually better than their Hilux counterparts.

The price difference between the Hilux and Ranger is substantial as well.

Very good (and capable) vehicle but I don't like it.

My money would be spent on the Amarok.

Big price difference. Also keep in mind, VW always have that hidden prices for the little extras. It can amount to a shait load.

New Ranger looks great, heard there is a 6 month waiting list though. I love the Amarok, but wouldn't the Ranger trump the VW in the engine department?

Proper competition on the way from Isuzu...

Actually... the new Mazda BT-50 is a badge-engineered Ford. :D

Actually in this case I get totally confused ~ in the past all the Fords were badge engineered Mazdas, or Fazdas for short, and in this particular case I don't know which was the chicken and which was the egg!

And yes, @ rorZ0r certainly prettier than a Toyota or a Subaru, and I'm sure it might even be as capable as them too...:p

The chicken has become the egg in this instance - they've swapped roles. Not that I'd buy either chicken or egg, but that's neither here nor there. :D

We have a BT50 at work and everyrhing under the hood except tje sub assembly and the turbo jas been replaced. Since 2000km on the clock it has a low rev misfire/powercut. The vehicle has been in to Eastern Cape Motors 7 times now on top of the service intervals and they cannot seem to find the problem. It is the 2.2 tdci. Is anyone having similar problems?

We also have a bantam that did this since new. It has 160 000km on now and it is still doing it. Why we keep on buying fords I do not know...

Eskom returned near their entire fleet of new Ford Rangers… Various drivetrain issues…
