Thread: WARNING: Samsung consider the buzzing of the 64" E8000 to be "normal"

And a further update. Let Me Repair phoned me 5 minutes ago saying I am on their job list again from Samsung - apparently I reported a burning smell from my TV. Which I have not.

Hey folks, sorry if I am boring you, but the latest is that a Thembiso (spelling to be corrected) phoned me today (tried 3 times yesterday but I was in Joburg). Anyway, the dude was prepared to listen to my whole diatribe and then said, to quote him, "I can understand your frustration". Having said that, he still wants/needs to send out another technician....

Although he did get that Let Me Repair technicians saying the Samsung 64" E8000 buzzing sound was normal, after they had told me they had never seen a similar set before, was very implausible. And he also seemed to agree that the second techie with the (claimed) dog-like hearing was also somewhat odd.

At this point I am waiting to be contacted by him. I hold a dim flicker of hope that this will be resolved amicably.

    Good luck

On a side note, I've long suspected that Audiovision treats it's customers like cr<p after they've made the sale.

I am slightly concerned that someone might have slipped some LSD into my coffee at work.

The one techie came (along with cousin); they saw, and listened. The report is that they heard the buzzing noise and that it is not normal.

I continue to pour large drinks for myself right now.

LOL. Yeh man - I must not get ahead of myself at the mo. This has been a bit of a bizarre episode seeing as I pounded away at a seemingly impenetrable wall off denseness and inefficiency. But then, an internal corporate control threw an arm of "request-customer-feedback" out there and maybe, just maybe, it worked.

    Time will tell.

Well, dunk me in a barrel of spit, slap me around and call me gobsmacked.....

Got a phonecall early this morning from Thembiso, they have received the report and now I can go back to Audiovision and get a new TV with my approved "credit".....

Although I have a feeling there will be a debate as to who pays for transport costs, but maybe thats just my cynicism.

Definitely test in store for excessive buzzing before buying. Should be able to get one since the original was definitely not normal. I'd imagine he'd give it another chance since it offers much better value than the UN55ES8000 LCD, 9" bigger, better colours, among the best 2D and 3D picture quality on the market, etc.

Try avoid brands that use Let Me "Repair".
Might be easier said than done though.
