Default Icecream update Galaxy Note timeout frustration

The update is over 300MB. OTA keeps on timing out as well as using Kies. I must have wasted close on to 2 GB by now re attempting. Are there any other options to do this? Samsung concept stores and MTN stores can't help, in JHB.

Try doing it after midnight, or very early tomorrow morning.

*I feel your pain!! Still remember my days with an iPhone and the constant iOS 400MB downloads....not fun on a Vodacom 2GB data bundle.

I tried for 4 days and then gave up.

I downloaded it from Sammobile and flash my phone that why. I used the XFM firware, it's the same as the one MTN uses. I think Vodacom uses a different one.

    The sales codes are (CSC):

    XFM - MTN
    XFV - Vodafone
    XFC - CellC
XFE - think it might be 8ta or Virgin Mobile
XFA - unbranded South Africa (my favorite)

Or you can just connect your phone via Kies and do it that way.
