telkom got this specials. phone adsl and 8ta cell. depends how much data you will use. lots of data, get adsl with other provider. they say, don't bind yourself with any contract. also try to get a gmail email account so it you move your email stay the same.

yes, but you need those filter, normally comes with a modem. your isp normally helps you well and then this site as well.

Maybe look at something like this:
    https://secureapp.telkom.co.za/campa...ple-3/index.do

You get ADSL and phone line rental included, along with 8ta dongle and Telkom capped account AND free installation. BUT this is not on a contract, so after a month or whatever you can start to remove services - E.g. dump telkom capped account and get Uncapped from mweb after a your first invoice from Telkom.

That's what we are doing at home - getting installed tomorrow morning

Remember the installation fees are to cover all the necessary tasks, hooking up your line on exchange side etc. as well as installation of new lines/jacks at your home, if needed.

    Nobody's answering his question...

OP, phone Telkom and tell them you want your line activated. They'll send a technician around to test the line and hook up the cabling on their side so that you can actually make calls. Once that's done, you can apply to have ADSL activated on the line. This normally takes a week or two. My previous installation, I asked the techy to do me a favour and he had one of his buddies activate the ADSL portion for me the next morning already.
Once your ADSL is up and running, you can connect using whichever ISP you chose.
