Thread: Some links fast and some V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W...

Default Some links fast and some V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W...

Can someone please throw some light on why I've been having trouble getting into some sites these past few days, while others are quick to access? In the past two of the sites - one USA and the other British - gave me no trouble whatsoever, but suddenly I can't seem to access them at all. Yet other USA sites operate normally... I've done the usual checks - defrag, registry, etc - but to no avail.

I'm running on Windows 7 and ADSL.

Any advice from the experts, please?

    Thanks in anticipation.

Kempton Park, East Rand/Gauteng. Would that have any bearing on the problem, perhaps?

Looks like Nomad1985 might have part of the prblem identified. However I would have thought that that would have affected all your connectivity and not just a couple of sites.

Which sites are you trying to get to?

    Regards

    Tim

It could be different transparent proxy servers on the path, or corruption on routing tables directing to slower path, many causes.
If you wand do some research, use traceroute to identify path and compare good and slow ones. Windows program is called tracert
