Alan Knott-Craig has launched numerous aggressively-priced products since he took over as Cell C CEO, and there is more to come from the company more

Well done, man of the year IMO.
This man is the father of cellphones in SA like it or not.
    Bring it on akc.

Alan, when you're done over at Cell C. I hear Telkom are needing a CEO.

Not really dude... it's called the shareholders mandate to the CEO... fulfil the mandate, and bonuses are yours, fail and they'll find someone else who can...

    Simple!

I have never really liked Cell C (had a contract for many years) but I am impressed by the way this guy is shaking up the industry. He is a good businessman because he does the basics right. Ultimately the whole market should benefit from his incentives. Keep going!

Knott-Craig confirmed that he is repositioning Cell C to function in a low-margin, high-volume business environment, adding that it is financially sustainable.
    Hes firing more people?

Yeah so I finally changed over my 14 year old MTN contract two weeks back to Cell C(the lower data rates which suits smartphones perfectly was the final push to let go of my fears!),the whole process was very very easy just went with my I.d to cell c since I already have my wife's contract with them they handed me a new simcard and a few hours later I saw that my MTN simcard had no signal so I popped in my cell c simcard and its all peachy since then and I'm saving lots of cash already.

The pleasant surprise was just how well AKC understands the market he has quickly brought about products like dual simcards etc,so I got me both a normal simcard and a micro one for R30 more and they are both working

Other note worthy features in store were the rapid availability of the HTC One X which shows Cell C is becoming a serious player and at this rate they will run over MTN and Vodacom shortly.

So far the network seems reliable and data speeds are better than MTN so we'll see how it goes.....

I just hope Cell C picks up market share to justify and maintain the price-cutting momentum
