It's not,you are not being forced to pay extra, you can get your money back
I wish this was possible to be instantly updated on prices from differing systems and suppliers, would make life simplerIt's their responsibility to keep their price lists up to date.
Also often it happens is suppliers have stock issues,so you source it from somebody else, price is different,in fact it may be way more than the margin you charged. What do you do? Offer the client to pay the difference or reimburse
Acceptance of the order was concluded on acceptance of payment..
They must suck up the price difference.
This could amount to bait marketing under the CPA, especially if this has happened more than once.
I'd be fine with that although I'd prefer not to know.
Its the risk they take, setting prices on the website. They might win some, they might lose some. If they change the prices after the deal is done to suit them, then their word means nothing. I cant trust the prices on their website, can I? Meanwhile, if I see a price on Takealot, I know thats the price. It wont change, never does. Maybe I end up paying R100 more than Takealot thought the item would cost sometimes. But thats fine.
At the end of the day, seller SHOULD assume responsibility for any prices. These guys arent.
Item was ordered but out of stock, you desperately want it so you are willing to wait,3 weeks later a new supplier comes around and slashes prices. Nice guy would pass the discount, your guy would just say "well you did commit to paying the old price,PROFITTTTTT TO MEEEEE"
Meh,I know what I prefer :P
I ended up paying R2600 more for an iPad3 because they couldn't source stock on the one I had ordered,so I wouldn't be so certainItems that are stocked by sellers the price is what it is,but when it isn't stocked and sourced there is motility in prices and MOST webshops don't stock everything they have on their prices
I would complete the order, but never use them again.
I've used them before and was very happy - but then they had what I ordered in stock and this situation never came up. I'd probably use them again - but I'd phone to make sure that the item was in stock at the advertised price before placing the order.
superdiy, glad you got what you wanted in the end, but it would be nice to know how efficiently your refund is processed.
I've had an issue with them previously as well. I’ve bought a flight case (online again – sorry, I’m addicted) and when they ordered the item they came back to me and said that the product code and price on the website was actually for the mounting brackets to be used in conjunction with the flight case although the product title and description matched the title and description of the flight case itself. The flight case was about 8 times more expensive than the brackets and obviously they said that they cannot supply me the flight case for the price I've paid. They offered me a similar flight case which eventually cost me about R200 more than what I have already paid and I settled for it.
About the refund - I had to fill out an online cancellation form to "apply for order cancellation" - that had to be approved by them and they said that it might take up to 2 working days to process the application and 2 additional days before the reversal will reflect on my card. Fortunately the system did a reservation for the amount when I did the initial checkout and apparently they need to "confirm" the transaction within 7 days otherwise the reservation will expire. To date the transaction was not processed and the reservation was lifted in the mean time - hopefully it is the end of this episode.
Note to self: Never ever deal with Orange Music again!
I suffer from CDO, it's like OCD, but in the correct alphabetical order.
