    Speaking if RICA, why is MTN allowed to use RICA info to contact users from other networks to scam/spam their deals?

    They do that so they can get credit for coming up with the word, or the underlying concept or trend.

    The fundamental problem is that the operators have allowed so much spam-texting in the first place that customers don't know what is real or not. If I was only sent the messages I had signed up for (i.e. zero) I could easily detect a fraudulent mail, but as I'm getting a handful of messages each day, it's harde to distinguish.
