The cops were not properly prepared for this, possibly because of a lack of proper training.

If you watch the original clip, you will see that those strikers were targeting one isolated cop. They were clearly intending to kill him

check this clip & see the frame 31seconds... that cop disarms one of the deceased strikers!

Cool, I assume you'll volunteer to stand with the police armed with a paintball gun during the next round?

The police defended themselves... end of story.

Don't fire live ammunition at someone holding a machine gun.

    You are "asking for trouble"

Not too bright..... if the police were to use rubber bullets, they would've been dead. And how do you know what was going through their minds when they were standing "side by side straight up"?
The police are under tremendous presure, beeing killed all over South Africa every day. I say its time for them to bury the rubber bullets and water canons.
If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.

    *Shakes head* Seriously???

Rioters fired first - Cops retaliated the way they should. If you attempt to murder or kill a member of the SAP you will need to be given the same treatment.

Senseless loss of life on all fronts. However -No sympathy for the Rioters who shot at and killed policemen.

I did not receive any training in riot control, and you can't compare a paintball gun to a rubber bullet...
It's in the rough waters that you quickly notice the presence or absence of the ship's captain. Who is at SA's helm?

Agreed. 3 minutes of shooting hundreds of rounds and it only hit 36 Rioters? bad shooting skills.
