All those questions have already been answered on MyBroadband.

    - 384Kbps will be upgraded to 1Mbps in October I think (may be Novermber) and will take 6 weeks to complete.
    - When You see that your line is 1Mbps on your Routers Stats then you'll need to contact MWeb and tell them to upgrade your uncapped account to 1Mbps, then you will be able to download at the higher speeds.

    Hopes this answers your questions.

I saw a Telkom Ad on the sunday times, Advertising their Do Basic bundle (384kbps + 5GB ADSL), and at the bottom, it said speed upgrades commence september 2012.

I'm pretty sure you dont have to contact MWEB, especially if you have uncapped since the cheapest uncapped MWEB account is for line speeds up to 1mbps. But yeah, they would leave the 384 till last hey.
And about the advert, the speed upgrades are starting in September but they are doing the 1mbps and 2mbps, etc. first iirc. Telkom logic n'all....

Since this is subject of last three posts:-

Telkom announced 1Mbps to 2Mbps upgrades commence on 24th August and will roll-out OVER a six week period. Your line could be upgraded anytime during that period.

Telkom may only be making new pricing and products available from September.

Edit: A six wee period was just unacceptable

I'm not even hazarding a guess at the seriousness of that ummmmm.... period!
