Thread: Process of terminating contract and porting to prepaid Autopage/Mtn

  1. #1

Default Process of terminating contract and porting to prepaid Autopage/Mtn

2 months into month to month with Autopage (24 month contract term is over), I sent them a request to terminate the contract and that I want to retain the number with MTN prepaid.

I am trying to figure out the last day of the contract. Is it a month from the day I sent them notice to cancel the contract? Or is it a month from the next billing cycle? I tried asking them, but they complicated it by telling me that they did not receive my cancellation request and follow up (line went dead mid call) being told that 13 September will be the last date. 13 September is a month from when I phoned them, and might coincide with Autopage/MTN billing cycle.

I can't figure out if the contract gets terminated a month from notice, or month from billing cycle. All subsequent contact has failed getting an answer, just that 13 September will be the last date. 13 September is 7 weeks from the point that I received a SMS confirmation that my request for cancellation was received.

No one? Guess most of you on myBB wised up a long time ago to Autopage. Their helopeter page is too busy, guess I will be lost in the noise there as well.

Hi, I am on my own here and feel like crying.

Can anyone explain the process of porting the number to prepaid? Autopage did not and I can't afford to sit on the line with them. I was assuming that after I send a request to terminate the contract, and requesting that I retain my number that I should be now on MTN prepaid. But I am not - I have been allocated another months airtime, hence the need for someone to explain.

I can google previous threads by the end of today but now I am sitting confused.
That sick feeling in my stomach, the puke that left's in my mouth ... reminds me of Apple Inc

I had the same problem with my Vodacom contract. I ended up phoning everyday to try speak to someone with half a brain.
Make sure you get the name of the person you are speaking to and get a refrence number.

It feels like they do it deliberately.

Ja, just stay away from them. It's good for your health.
Christ-mass is NOT for Christians. Jeremiah 10.
Is the 10 Commandments for Christians?

Saturday is the Seventh day, Sunday is the first day.
