Ok, so basically I want to know how much will it cost me in data to use my drifta with S2? Or is purely just working off dstv signal itself?

Drifta should not use data, it receives DSTV digital signal. The Walka is what I prefer, does not tie up my android device while in use..
Just a quick note: C#
It works off the dstv signal but it does send a small authentication request but its very small. Although the dstv app doesnt seem to work on devices with Jelly Bean. I have a GNex. Agreeing with the previous posts get the Walka
had the drifta b4 it was stolen. bastards.
anyway it uses DBVH signals like a radio signal hence reception is not good everywhere. check their website for signal in your area.
your android device needs an app and then connects via wifi.
note that the screen size is limited and so is resolution. also there's only about 10 or 15 channels at the moment.
Time flies when you don't know what you're doing.
Meh can't install the app on a rooted phone :/
If its rooted you can use:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...otkeeper&hl=en
its called OTA rootkeeper and you can switch unroot while watching then root again from within the app.
However, if you're on a custom ROM ... drifta might still do as you described.
