Still a bit expensive, but Wimax has always been more. Rather poky speeds

Why so expensive? At least R100.00 MORE than my current uncapped 1Mb ADSL line (on which I do over 200Gig a month)

Also not getting why anyone would take up this service (unless you can't get ADSL in your area, but then they probably don't offer this service in such places). For less than R750 you can get 2mb service including analogue line rental with most ISPs.

Agreed - also just been to check their site for coverage (for the heck of it) site doesn't seem to be updated with the product.
That or it's very well hidden

I dont like this 12month contract story...I burnt my fingers with them before (badly) upon signing a similar contract with their Neotel Prime Unlimited.

This is where I think they can learn a couple tricks from Telkom....give the service on a month-month contract and if unhappy give a month's notice and give back the equipment and the equipment goes to the next person, if companies can't do this In My Opinion then as a consumer it means to me that "they aren't confident enough in their own product, and fingers are still burnt so...".

My telkom Wimax works like that....and IF Neotel could change that for me.....I might reconsider them in the future (seeing as telkom fails to install my line after 2 yrs:P)

But signing up long term with a company who already has such a bad reputation (even on this site) is just too much of a risk for me.

Thanks Neotel, but change your deal to month to month with no once off equipment fees of 1k-3k , no long term contracts like telkom, you are here to compete with Telkom, aren't you? So compete, you are doing the opposite of competing...

Agreed, not very appealing compared to ADSL. A few weeks ago I would say maybe the installation would happen faster than a phone line + ADSL, but our office Neotel fiber took just under 4 months to get installed and activated. I must say, so far the connection on the fiber is very good though.

Not great pricing..

I'm paying a bit more per month for 4Mbps uncapped, and i do 400+ Gbps on the line

Nice product. Now make it a little cheaper, increase the caps and change to month-to-month and you have a winner.

R500 installation fee? Does someone actually 'install' this wireless product?

The coverage map makes provision for the WiMax Service, but is site visit dependant:

View Coverage View Level
Voice Services
Mobile Data Services
High Speed Internet Services
Voice And Basic Internet Services
Voice And High Speed Internet Services
Wimax Data Services

Looks interesting. Was hoping for the minimum speed of 1Mbps for R500.

Will have to re-look at my options when my 8ta 60+60 runs out at the end of the year.
