"international" has lost all meaning. It's good or not, nothing to do with "international" anymore.

    1. Sho't Find - Google maps has found nearly every place I have every searched for.
    2. VCpay - good concept, but really needs NFC to take hold first
    3. Quick CV - Very nice!
    4. Super Rugby app - I get the same information similarly quickly from a web page
    5. Bozza - the way all music should be sold, Directly by the bands.

The concept is great for those without CC's - it would make online purchasing a breeze compared to most other services.
One thing they don't mention is cost, unless the merchant foots the bill as usual.

Very clever idea. Will give it a try next time I buy online and report back.

As this site is dedicated to internet connectivity you should have also mentioned that some ISP's have useful apps as well:

    Axxess - http://www.axxess.co.za/mobileapp.php

    AfriHost - http://www.afrihost.com/site/page/mybandwidth_app

WebAfrica also have a reseller one but can't find the url
“Sometimes I think war is God’s way of teaching us geography.”

    My ISP: G-Connect Package: 10 Mbps + Free Wi-Fi 100Min

Currently, I don't believe NFC will add value to the app. I haven't seem any merchant with an NFC reader.
Even if every merchant in South Africa had a NFC reader, the target market is limited to a number of people using NFC enabled mobile devices.

The app as it stands, can be run on the most basic BB (8520) to the most advance iPhones & Androids.
VCpay's website says that the app should be used for online/telephone purchases, thus making the whole transaction secure. The app wasn't intended for paypoint transactions.

However, NFC will be a great add for the future.

Since it is a MasterCard, the merchant is already footing the bill (indirectly sent to the consumer).
    The costs via VCpay site:
"This registration is free of charge and you will not be charged for monthly subscription or any other fees."

    What I like:
"Our loyalty programme will credit your prepaid VCpay™ account monthly with 0.5% of the value of every payment you make using a VCpay™ virtual card."

Consider a client with a Capitec account (who previously did not have method for shopping online - till now with the MasterCard Debit card).
The client pays bills worth 2K using a VCpay card, which gives you a R10.00 rewards. This R10.00 offsets the R4.50 monthly fee @ Capitec.

VC Pay looks awesome - even if you do have a credit card, it limits the fraud opportunity substantially.

Mybb - please consider running an article specifically on this app.

The benefit of that is we can also get feedback from people who start to use it
