Apple Inc distributed invitations to an event in San Francisco on September 12, setting the stage for what is widely expected to be the release of the iPhone 5.

I would rather buy a Samsung Galaxy S3 over an Apple iPhone in my opinion.

Their bitching on Samsung convinced me more on getting Samsung.

In the beginning, this was news... now its just getting boring. Every few months a new launch with not much to be unveiled except second-hand concepts courtesy of ... android, or nokia, or... Facetime? New innovation?? Hmmm, my N95 back in 2006 had a frontfacing camera for exactly this, how innovative apple

At this stage last year I think everyone believed the new iPhone would have a wedge style profile like the macbook air. Wouldn't be surprised if the iPhone 5 is different to what has been speculated. I hope they increase it to 4" but keep the current aspect ration. The idea of a very long screen just isn't that appealing.

Also speculated to be launching new iPods and the iPad mini and 13" rMBP are also in the works apparently. There was also noise about the iPad being slightly retouched to have the same new 9 pin connector.
