Didn't Symbian have row of icons before Apple?
I find it hard to believe that a company would damage its own reputation and brand on such petty items. The only conclusion I can make is that their innovation dept must be running on empty.
Couldnt agree more. Like google-Motorola for instance. So petty!

For me, it is blatantly obvious that Samsung intentionally tried to make their early touchscreen phones "more like Apple", and the internal memos from Samsung prove this. Google even warned them not to copy Apple.
It took Apple 5 years of R&D to make the first iPhone - Samsung copied it and had their first "competitor" in the market in a matter of months. They should write the $1b off as development costs and move on.
The best written article on this matter to date. The author shares my sentiments exactly. I've always maintained that Apple should/could have dealt with this in other ways that would enhance their brand/image, not degrade it to bully status as is happening now. Innovation was needed in dealing with the copycats, not litigation all across the globe. The impression I can't help getting is that Apple has run out of fresh ideas. If only this article was published sooner.
