Thread: Resolution to my issue with Vodacom re: huge (OOB) bill

That's what I like about FNB Connect 3G. You can buy a Rand value and use it until it is depleted. I stand corrected but I think it is valid for a year. When the data is depleted, you are cut off or you can elect auto topup. The app & mobi site is also zero rated.

There clearly is something very wrong with how these networks conduct business.

You pay R2/mb with no bundle loaded. If you load a 100mb bundle and use the 100mb and then continue to use you will be charged R1/mb.
(that only applies to non top up contracts)

So if you pay R9 for a "MyMeg 10" you pay R1/MB OOB but if you don't you pay R2/MB?

Why must one pay R9 to get R1/MB OOB? That's stoopid

As a consumer, it would also have helped if you kept up constant communication with me and kept me in the loop as to how matters are progressing, instead of ignoring my emails. Consumers do not appreciate being ignored. We are good enough for your company to make money off, but when we complain, we are ignored for weeks on end. That is not Ayoba. Yes, I just went there
So... I guess this is your way of saying "Thank you VDC for meeting me halfway" and "Jannie, if you had anything to do with this behind the scenes, thank you too."

    That OOB system is just...dumb

Pay R9 for 4.5MB and get billed at R2/MB OOB....or pay R9 for 10MB, and get billed at R1/MB
Is this supposed to be an idiot-tax or whats the actual point here? why not just make it R1/MB and be done with it?

I'd suggest that everyone worried about OOB goes and signs a prepaid contract. I've had it happen twice when something goes mad and chows data, but I never paid a cent more than what was already a credit on my account.

Works for data contracts too, BTW
