Has anyone managed to establish a connection on the 3G network?
Any idea when cellc will enable for all clients?

I was able to register on the Vodacom 3G network at home, where there is some Cell-C coverage, but didn't try to establish a data connection.
Where I work, where there is zero Cell-C coverage, I have not been able to register on the Vodacom 3G network and I've tried several times.
I found a strange thing. With my Galaxy S1 I can't register on Vodacom 3G at all. With my Nokia 6680 I can register and that with the same sim card. I can make calls on Vodacom 3G but as soon as I try to make a data connection, the network signal drops completely.
No luck registering on VC 3G here.

I'll just put this here so long for when the 'switch on' finally happens.

It would help a lot if we could get some feedback from CellC? Please?

AFAIK, that's because the roaming agreement is only for the towers. After the call or data connection crosses the airwaves from phone to tower, the voice call / data packets are then forwarded onto 8.ta's network.
So except for the last mile connection, you're still on the 8.ta network, and subject to their latencies, as well as local and international backhaul. International backhaul for Telkom/8.ta is primarily on SAT3, while for MTN is now primarily EASSY and WACS. Hence the difference in latencies to Europe.
I'm currently in a remote part of South Africa that has no Cell C coverage. When I use my Cell C speedstick with a SmartData sim card, I automatically roam on Vodacom's network on Edge. However, I thought Cell C recently signed a deal with Vodacom to roam on their 3G network with immediate effect. Why can't I roam on Vodacom's 3G network?
I forgot to add, there's definitely 3G coverage here, cos my HTC Desire has a Vodacom sim card, and I can connect to 3G on that no problem.

It works for me. I'm at shell ultra city middelburg, and have had 3G signal all the way from PTA.
Initial speed tests :
A bit slow, but a LOT better than piddly edge.

Strange, I've tried everything to force the speedstick to use 3G. When I try to manually select a network, I can see the Vodacom Edge and Vodacom 3G networks in the list of available networks, and both networks are listed as "Available", but when I try to select the Vodacom 3G network, it gives an error saying "Failed to logon".
