Thread: Asterisk VOIP service provider

    Default Asterisk VOIP service provider

    Hi all,

I am having difficulty finding a Asterisk service provider. I have googled South Africa, and they seem as rare as hens teeth. And the ones I have spoken too, give the impression of a "bloke working out of the garage, whose sister took a message as he was out"

Anyway, to the point, does anyone have a suggestion for a SP? Anyone had some experience with a SP and want to recommend?

Its for my company based in Fourways.

Asterisk because we currently have Asterisk, and I would like to try remain faithful, especially as I am familiar with the system. Our current SP went... well, went....

Any and all suggetions / recommendations appreciated.

Why dont you go to our website: www.whichvoip.co.za (http://www.whichvoip.co.za/index.php...Itemid=37&id=1) and check which providers support IAX (under Supported VoIP protocols and Codecs) and you shall find your answer - BitCo, Switch Telecom, Connection Telecom, etc.

Why not wanatel.co.za ? Where do you call? How I ahve it setup is 3 trunks.
1 for Telkom (PSTN) for local calls using my closer plan
1 for Wantel (VOIP) for all SA cell phone calls and calls within Africa
1 for Voiptalk.org (VOIP) for rest of the world (they charge +- R130 per month for 3000 minutes to all land lines in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, NZ, India etc....and you get a UK land line also.

If you interested drop me a message

lol on the garage i use that in my sales pitch, you should consider ECN they have various options available and they do support asterisk, I'm converting all my ippbx customers to them.

the biggest plus is they offer both pre and postpaid and you do not get penalized for going pre-paid same rates as post paid.

    connection options:
    1. Patton sip gateway and ipc supplied by ECN for R999.00 per month (includes ADSL)
    2. SIP only - Once off setup fee of R500.00 - no monthly fees - your choice of pre or post paid - you supply adsl and internet connectivity.

in both cases they will supply DID's at no charge and port existing geographic numbers at around R120.00 per number if you want to port to them.

give me a shout if you want more info
