    Question Nokia 6610i + GPRS + DKU-5 Data Cable = HOW?

I'm trying to connect to the web for a friend using the cellphone as a modem. The data cable driver was installed first like it said to in the manual. Nokia PC Suite can transfer files to and from the phone flawlessly.

Windows XP just does not see the modem at all. I've installed the drivers from Nokia's site. The only thing I can think of is the COM 1 port it installs it on.. it does not let you change it and all other phones I've seen used have been on COM 3. Can anybody help?

    BTW the provider is Vodacom.

I have the same setup and I sometimes run into trouble with the drivers. Best thing to do is unplug the cable, uninstall Nokia PC Suite, cable driver and modem driver (make sure it's all gone!). Then reinstall Nokia PC Suite. Now reboot the PC so that PC Suite runs. Connect the cable and phone to the usb port while it's running so that windows automatically reinstalls the cable driver and modem driver. After that's done (make sure it has completely installed both drivers) and PC Suite runs and shows the phone is connected, try to connect to the internet.
    Hope it helps!
