He made contact with Henry because Henry purposely let his leg hook on the defenders legs. You could see the defender didn't purposely trip Henry, he was trying to tackle him and then landed on the ground and Henry purposely didn't avoid him.

I wouldnt purposely try to avoid a tackle either if it meant it was going to lose the ball in a sure goal-scoring position. It was a foul. It was a penalty. Easy as that.
For Portugal to be complaining about diving is laughable.
Well, I agree with them, as far as I'm concerned Henry dived and it's a sad and pathetic way to win a semi-final. Viva la France!
Yes well they are in the final now, so you and the entire Portugese nation will just have to deal with that. They were not good enough to make it, just as in Euro2004. I for one, don't feel sorry for them at all
The fact that things are the way they are doesn't make them right.
And you said i moaned after England lost![]()
I'm not moaning, I'm just stating my opinion.
Hehe, so was I!![]()
Yeah, but you were biased, I'm totally objective and I'm always right.
This is the last thing I will say on this matter, Carvalho had no business stretching his leg toward Henry when he had absolutely no chance of playing the ball which was by then in front of a goal-bound Henry.Originally Posted by mooK
