Pieter is seen as one of the leading strategists, futurists and thinkers in the Technology Strategy arena. He read Electronic engineering at University, and completed his MBA in 1996 at the Potchefstroom Business School. In his academic capacity he has taught Strategic Technology & Innovation Management as well as E-business & Internet strategy at a MBA level for more than a decade.

As a Director of the Institute of Technology Strategy and Innovation, he is involved in various Innovation and Technology Strategy courses offered by North-West University. He is also directly involved in Corporate Innovation efforts, as he spends 4 days of his week as Managing Executive of Vodacom Innovations.

He is a keen commentator in the public space with dozens of public and television appearances, and more than a 500 radio appearances under his belt.

As futurist, his comments on the future impact of technology on organisations, countries and societies are highly regarded in academic and business spheres. He is also a passionate speaker that has the rare gift of using the future of technology to intrigue and inspire audiences wherever he goes. He constantly lives in the future, because that is where he will spend the rest of his life anyway. He passionately believes that it is not enough just predicting the future, you have to be actively involved in creating it.
