I have to admit the new iMac looks pretty awesome. About the only useful thing they did during this launch.

I get the feeling they missed the deadline for the last update and needed to add the new iPad features now. I would be pretty #$#$#$ if I bought the new iPad.

Fully agree with you there, awesome industrial design from apple once more,I doff my hat.But,....great ecosystem and all but just don't want to be locked in,yes you can dual boot Os and Win 7 but why would I buy this awesome piece of hardware just to run Win 7?To nitpick..no 3D blu-ray playback on the fantastic screens Apple offers, just me.

Fusion drive does sound great. I wonder if it will still work properly though if you run windows on it. Need to dual boot, and it would be great it Windows will support it as well. Though it seems it works on software level. Will see what comes out when people start testing it.

Installing windows on a Mac is like sticking a VW Beetle engine in a porsche.

I doubt it would, as it is a OS driven feature.
In windows, you would just probably see two drives, and you will need to manually manage what lives where and when.
Or it could just operate as a Hybrid Drive, where the SSD acts as a cache. But I doubt it

Great hardware, poor software. I have everything Apple (late models): 27 inch iMac, Macbook Air, MacMini but I have since reverted back to Windows PC's. I know one can run Bootcamp but it is not the same. For instance, Apple do not care updating the Bootcamp drivers. It remains a Mac and it annoys me to run some hybrid system. Moreover, their onboard laptop graphics don't appeal to me at all. I have built a powerful PC gaming and I am more than happy. I will support their iOS though. I have iPhone, iPad, iPod etc. It is the best mobile operating system out there.

I think it's pretty telling that they've dropped optical media from their flagship desktop model.

    The superdrive has been floppied.

My suggestion is to go for the iMac. It is an all-in-one. The Mac Mini is less specced and will require a screen to run. The new iMac screen is also beautiful.

I'm thinking of buying the mac mini as a server at home. Most of our equipment is Apple, so it will make sense.

If it's a similar vintage Porsche that's not much of a stretch.
