Apple’s iPad Mini makes its debut as the device becomes available to the public

It will be interesting to see how well it does in the market.
I dont just mean Sales numbers because thats relative too price. It probably wont sell as well as a Kindle Fire (which discount to sell their hardware to sell content in a system as closed as Apples).
It may not sell as well as cheaper 7" tablets

I am interested to see
* How much revenue and profit it adds to Apple
* How much it cannibalises from its bigger brother.

Individual taste of tech heads counts for zero.
Business success is the only real test. For my own use I wouldnt get one, not because of the screen but because I like bigger screens. A 7" or 8" tablet is too big to carry in a pocket but lacks the real estate of a 10"
I have an iPad 3 and despite the fact that the screen is way better than the iPad 2 (we have one too) for me it isnt a killer feature (objectively speaking, I justify it emotionally).
However my kids will need an iPod replacement in a year or so. Maybe it perfect for them.
