It only works with iBurst.
FREE, FREE I tell you .. from that other un-author-supported iBurst monitoring app (there being (heh) no 'trace' of him anywhere, when it counts) and onto the cross-platform goodness of eyeBurst - on Win7 64-bit.Also, kudos to James for being a responsible program author and all that.
It not only works a treat with my UTU on Win7 (now 7077, but going to 7100 sometime when I can be arsed to do the install) 64-bit, but ALSO without pesky command-line fannying about. One does it thusly (posting here both to help others from having to figure it out and to find it another time (when I inevitably get an attack of the stupids again):Oh, the signal levels (specially the magenta one "Linksfield Ridge" (but it's actually Hyde Park!)) jump around the way they do because I moved the UTU around as part of the testing.
You're left with an icon/'program' that makes sense that behaves in a way with which you're entirely familiar ..and doesn't clutter your desktop with pesky extra things that you have no need to see.
- on the desktop: option-click -> new -> shortcut (often called 'right click' but ain't always so (ask a lefty))
- navigate to the JAVA folder and select java.exe as your target (it's quite happy to use the 64-bit library), typically to be found at "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe"
- finish (this stage) by giving it a name - "eyeBurst" seems appropriate, non?
- opt-click your new shortcut and edit the target to read "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -jar <path_to_eyeburst.jar> - mine is at c:\eyeburst\eyeburst.jar
- edit 'start in' to the eyeBurst folder - again, for me that's c:\eyeburst\
- for cosmetic purposes change the 'run' to minimised - you end up with this.
- for even MORE cosmetic beautification, change the default java icon to, say, one that actually comes from the project? The link is a .png, but it's no effort to save-as_convert that to a .ico with, say, IrfanView.
So, I DID have an attack of the stupids and when I recently looked at the above I just could NOT get it to work. But not because there was anything wrong with the above, rather that I had utterly forgotten that the UTx device will (always?) be on 192.168.250.10 so, in ('doze or whatever networking, for the UTx adapter) you'd want an IP in the same range: 192.168.250.1 will work just fine.

One caveat though: once you've assigned the expected IP address to the UTx ON A SPECIFIC USB PORT you have to keep going back to that same port else 'doze (stupidly designed the way it is) will up and create UTx #2, #3, #<sigh> as you plug the device into different USB ports. So what you do is just always put it back in the same USB, natch!
Can anyone help. I'm using Eyeburst 1.1.3 and managed to get it started without error, but no it just sit there doing nothing. Telnet does the same, start but do nothing. If I type while telnet is working it creates short lines, no charector.
I have the IP set 192.168.250.1
You need to click on the connect button.
Is that your PC's IP address? The iBurst modem's address is 192.168.250.10.

Yes, sory I did not explain it good enough I did click "connect" and it look like it does, but it is at that stage that nothing happen. Other than the icon changing to "disconnect".
Any ideas ???
Yes I changed my my local connection IP to 192.168.250.1 and the Second connection to 192.168.250.2, but as far as know you cant change the iBurst connetion IP that must remain obtained from their site.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Second connection".
The IP address that you need to configure eyeBurst to connect to is 192.168.250.10.
What operating system are you using? Do you have a firewall that might be preventing Java from making and outbound connection?
What happens when you execute 'telnet 192.168.250.10 1234' from a command prompt / terminal?
Have you tried turning your modem off and on again? I have seen that eyeBurst sometimes leaves the modem in a state where it won't accept any more connections on port 1234.

On the Mikrotik I have assigned an IP address to the gateway interface as follows:
