    Angry Pissed off with MTN

    I'm just so pissed off.

Last week friday I went to the local MTN shop to find out whether they have any idea when the n91 will be available. And at last it was, or at least on their price list, for R159 pm on MyCall 100, but they didn't have stock yet, and said that they should have by this week Friday. The price just sounded too good to be true, so I went back the next day, and they checked again, and it was R159 pm.

So today we went to George, and I went to the MTN Service Center to find out whether they might have any stock. Well when I heard I must pay in nearly R1000 extra I didn't even bother asking about stock and I just hoped that it's some sort of special that the shop here in Plett has.

As soon as I arrived back in Plett I immediately went to the MTN shop again to make sure about the price. And they told me that today a new price list came in and I have to pay R1000 extra.

Now how the hell can they offer something for such a good price while they know none of their stores have stock??? Because if they had, I would have taken the phone immediately.

Im just soo pissed of and angry.

Sounds almost like the hefty price that Vodacom is asking for the N80 - R2000 on Talk200
while MTN is giving it to you on the ProCall100......

R2000 for N80 on Talk200 is just a total ripoff.

While I now if i take the R1000 into consideration the total cost for the n91 over two years (excluding calls) will be quite close to the cash price of the phone, and I expected to pay about that much and it isn't such a ripoff as that n80 at voda. But what pisses me off is that they had it for such a great price while I'm sure they knew no-one had any stock, and two days before they should get stock, they change it.

Clearly MTN is disorganised. First off they wanna sell cellphones they don't have...2ndly they have the wrong (or not final) prices for the phones (which they don't have in stock)...that's why I left MTN long ago. They are the worst cellphone company in the country by far.
For Sale: Parachute. Only used once, never opened, small stain.

They have dropped their game in the last couple of months....

Hi I have been with Mtn for 10 years now renwing my contract every 2 years.I am up for a renewal and want the nokia 8800. I have an ave spend per month of R600 used to be more when i had other phones under my same account I am on procall 120. Mtn want me to pay R1700.00 for the phone .
My friend with no history with Mtn signed up and got exactly the same deal.
I am frothing. Does anyone know about number retentions when it starts and or how it works. CellC is giving this phone away on a new sign up . I do wish to retain my number.

I am also slowely but surely getting fed up with MTN. Have been waiting for almost two weeks now for my k-jam, and so far its nowhere in sight.

Next time, I will wait for two to three weeks before I pay my bill, then we will see who will be the happiest

You will come last my friend. They cut off your phone. You _have_ to pay as per the agreement. They dont _have_ to do anything in terms of getting the cellphone to you. Its just not what you signed for.

Seriously, can't believe something like this pisses you off. Obviously you guys are on the internet, why not do some freaking research instead of believing some backwater place in Plett and _only_ checking with them?

I would have called JHB/Cape Town/Durban or wheever just to check on that price. Obviously the plett guys don't update their pricelist often. Hell, even phoning 808 would give you a better idea of whats going on than talking to some 3rd party schmoe
