I have the exact same grip as you. The Mamba is damn comfortable is your grip is palm only, but as soon as you start clawing it, it's just too big.

But coming to the extra 2 buttons, they go unused for me.

    R.A.T.9 +1

Or you might want to consider the new flagship from Razer - the Ouroboros. 1/2 Mamba + 1/2 R.A.T.9

RAT 5 / 7 / 9 , roccat kone + , hands down the most kick ass in my opinion, even the RAT 5 with the 5600 DPI is extremely accurate and fast

Ecellent weight to those mice, however, the thumb button just couldn't be set to the right position for me. Was really bummed about that. Always loved the RATs.

I had a Razor Imperator 2012 and after a few months it started turning itself off whenever it felt like it. Sent it back to Razor, got it back a week later with a note saying that there's nothing wrong with it and that they could not replicate the issue. I took it home, plugged it in and 5 minutes later it turned off (all easily replicated on different devices so it wasn't my pc)...so I will always say eff you Razor!

I bought a Logitech G500 and have been using it since. Took a while to get used to the rough texture feel but now it feels good At least I know I can trust all my Logitech stuff :/

True, also don't like the position of the thumb button, luckily i don't actually use it unless i play a game like sniper

I have 3 Razers. Mamba at home, Deathadder for my laptop and a Boomslang for my media server. None of them has ever turned themselves off so Razer FTW.

You shouldn't have bought the Chinese fakes then. The real deal is Razer, not Razor.

    RAT 7 FTW.

Don't get the MMO RAT if you want a mouse for FPS gaming, some buttons might get in the way

Ended up getting a Razer Taipan after trying out a friend, and I have to say I have been nothing but impressed, the mouse also suits my grip style (claw grip) very well. It also left some room in my budget for the Razer Nostromo gamepad which is AWESOME!!

What I have in mind is either the Logitech G700 (which I have read very mixed reviews of) or the Razer Taipan. Open to any suggestions, btw I play mainly FPS games. Anyone with any experiences of either of the two mentioned options your input would be much appreciated.

Tried out the M8600, I felt that the tracking could have been smoother, other than that aslo a really cool mouse, just also check polling rate when you are using it in wireless mode, drops like brick!!

Can I bump this thread again.

Also looking for a new mouse. Currently have the older Razer Mamba en it is now giving me issues.
    I don't want a Razer and I don't want a RAT.

The Roccat Kone XTD (upgrade to Roccat Kone+) looks really nice to me. I'm just worried about some ppl saying that had issues with Roccat.

Another mouse that joined the picture for me is the Corsair Vengeance M65 as its a medium cost mouse that seems pretty good, gets good reviews and seems popular internationall

Its probably time you looked at the Steelseries Sensei.

I tried out the RAW version of the Sensei and came away very impressed.
